About us

Think about being a child with no place to go…….think about being a child bouncing from foster home to foster home……think about a child going to various different schools in just one year……and think about not having anything that you can call your own.  That is why BACKPACKS OF BLESSINGS was created. Our purpose will be help the children in these state authorized community-based foster care homes see the help and hope being given to them to have better lives and brighter futures.

What we do:

Backpacks of Blessings, a group of student volunteers, with the authorization of their respective universities, working closely with local community-based foster care homes to provide children with backpacks, school supplies, clothing, and other necessities for them to be able to go back to school feeling whole.  Backpacks of Blessing has an outreach program that involves the community at large to help these community-based foster homes go above and beyond what is needed to take care of these children.

What we believe:

Backpacks of Blessings believes that every foster child should be able to have the same opportunities as children that come from loving homes.  Backpacks of Blessing aims to level the field.

Backpacks of Blessings’ mission statement is to make sure that these young foster children feel understood and can feel comfortable when stepping out into the world. That when going to school they have the same opportunities as the other children without feeling marginalized. No child, no challenge is impossible to help. These children need to be reached before they age out of the system.

Backpack of Blessings is a grass roots organization that can make a difference. Founded by Daniel Petrucci with the goal of recruiting more students to help the neighborhood community-based foster care home. Backpacks of Blessings hopes to expand the organization’s goal to reach university students and state authorized community-based foster care homes throughout the state.
